Memory verse for Today, Sunday, August 18th, 2024: Ephesians 5:18(NLT) "Don't be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, Whatever name we may want to call it, Alcohol does no good to any person. But the Holy Spirit, on the other hand, tells us the mind of God, Enlightens our spirits by making things clear to us. Alcohol or wine acts on our spirit and soul by confusing us, while the Holy Spirit acts on our Spirit and soul by drawing us close to God, making the word of God palatable and easier for us to understand. He does this by enlightening our minds and souls and tuning our spirits to God's words and also to Himself( The Holy Spirit). So let us as Christians seek and crave more of the Holy Spirit and run away from anything that is not Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit also makes us wiser in our individual personal lives and careers. From all the above and much more, we can see that it is greatly profitable to seek to be filled (drunken) with the Holy Spirit instead of Alcohol or wine. The way to be filled with the Holy Spirit is by reading the Bible, listening to godly messages, listening to godly music and Hymns and fellowshiping with Christians in a church that believes and uses the Holy Bible. If you have not yet invited Jesus Christ into your heart and life as your personal Lord and Saviour, please do so now and your life will change for the better because the Holy Spirit will come into your life and begin to direct and guide you in all your ways.
